Our Story

The Briar Patch first opened its doors in 1948. In July 1986 Joan Lingerfelt purchased the quaint little restaurant. The Briar Patch is renowned for its delicious dishes and being the place "Where Friends Meet. The words at the beginning of the menu sum up the atmosphere.

"Congratulations on your discerning taste, good looks, charming personality and appreciation for the finer things in life. We make every effort to prepare each of our dishes to order; therefore, we are not a fast food restaurant. So relax, have a drink, visit and enjoy."

Filet mignon baked potato loaded country style green beans fantastic! If you are ordering dessert specifically cheesecake be sure to inquire about what special kind is being offered for the day. Super friendly service.

>Good food and atmosphere. I'd like a little more variety and simpler wrap sandwiches but it is a great place to eat if u want a relaxing lunch. I recommend the chicken salad. No nuts or berries or grapes, just good old fashioned chicken salad. Yum.

Gosh I finally had an amazing hamburger today! I have looked and tasted but today was it! The best burger I have had in years. It was thick and juicy and cooked just right. The flavors were amazing. and friendly atmosphere.

Best restaurant in Amherst! Steaks are amazing, chicken Florentine pizza is superb, sandwiches and salads are wonderful as well! The waitresses and bartenders are always attentive and friendly. Would recommend this place to everyone!

The food was very good and our waitress was extremely nice. I got the salmon salad when I was there. It was a good size and the salmon was very moist as well. I've been there many times and it is consistently a good experience.
